Process Post: “Wilcanoe”, Wilco’s Asheville, NC Poster Art
We have worked with Wilco for 10 years, during that decade (!!!) it’s been a great creative partnership with them, greatly influenced by their encouraging a very free flowing creative approval process. The latest poster commission was no different. We got the nod for creating the poster art for their recent stop in Asheville, North Carolina – our backyard – and as many can tell you, a beautiful setting with mountains, trees, rivers and everything an outdoor lover could want or need.
Taking all those elements into consideration, plus the excellent set design Wilco has had on recent tours that feature, (thanks to Wilco’s lighting designer Jeremy Roth and New York scenic artist Valerie Light) – overarching trees, we went to work on a concept.
We hope you guys enjoy the gallery and short video below that shows a peak into the creative process! We also have a limited number of posters available for purchase here.
- The original presented concept rough. Some mental notes and client direction shown here as well.
