A Day In Downtown Naha

On Sunday we opted to spend the day shopping in downtown Naha, the capital of Okinawa, around 1.3 million population. Every weekend on Sunday they close the main street to traffic and allow people to wander through the entire area. The downtown Market is an awesome area filled with all SORTS of stores, fresh food and what have you. Here’s some pix of all the fun variety found at the Market:

Yes, those ARE black snakes for sale…yummy!

There’s also a street performance by Eisa dancers, traditional Okinawan style music & dance.

And last but not least, here’s something special for Chastyne:

the fish market photo is quite disturbing, yet i can’t stop looking into the eyes of the dead fish.

looks like you two are having a wonderful time there and that makes me happy.

enjoy the rest of your stay Scooter. it was good to hear you voice tonight.

    advice: don’t eat the blowfish.

Wow! I love markets and street “stuff” in other places. This looks awesome! It’s too bad you couldn’t send us the sounds and smells that went with the pictures. Except for the fish and other foul smelling wares…you can keep those smells! Love ya,
